The psychological consequences of living with HIV are complex and widespread. Recognizing the need for psychological support among HIV+ women in British Columbia, Positive Women’s Network (PWN) offers a range of support services for women living with HIV across
the province. One of the most popular support services delivered by PWN is the Weekend Retreat Program. Offered since 1993, this program provides HIV+ women with
the opportunity to relax and connect with one another in safe, stigma-free environments.
While PWN has collected and analyzed process-level information surrounding the retreat weekends, an evaluation of this support program was required to better understand what difference the program is making. To address this need, PWN hired a master's student in public health from Simon Fraser University
