This resource presents the results of an on-line survey conducted with members of the Canadian AIDS Society from across Canada. Among its contents are the following:
- key challenges in finding affordable and suitable housing;
- an overview of housing programs that are meeting with success, including specific examples;
- the vital role of advocacy and capacity building in improving stakeholders’ ability to navigate the political systems as they create more flexible and adaptable housing programs;
- challenges of providing housing needs for specific populations, including people living with HIV/AIDS and people who use drugs;
- the importance of a national housing strategy in providing housing for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS
- responsibility for housing; and,
- improvements needed to the housing system.
