Since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic more than 30 years ago, an important part of the response has been the delivery of HIV prevention programs by diverse AIDS Service Organizations (ASOs). However, there is still a lot of uncertainty about the effectiveness of these programs, and a lack of clarity on how ASOs measure their success. This report summarizes a research project that sought a deeper understanding of how ASOs monitor and evaluate – how they capture the success – of their HIV prevention programs. This report is written for community members: it summarizes the research project and makes suggestions on where to go from here.
