Oral health is an integral part of overall health and is often a predictor of HIV-related health events. 90% of people living with HIV experience at minimum one oral condition in their lifetime. Despite the fact that all dental procedures and devices should be safety and effectively provided regardless of immune status, access to dental care services is often limited for many people living with HIV in Canada due to financial barriers and fear of discrimination and stigma.
